Advocacy Coordinator
Damani is a member of the Class of 2022 at the University of Connecticut where he is studying Political Science and Communication. In his free time, he can be found watching C-SPAN, researching Supreme Court cases, or reading organizational bylaws.
In his time at UConn, Damani has been an active member of the Undergraduate Student Government. In his freshman and sophomore years, he served as both a Senator and Advocacy Director before becoming Chief of Staff. In these positions, he advocated for State and Local reforms that would benefit the lives and experiences of students at UConn. He also oversaw a series of cultural events that were designed to showcase the diversity of the campus community. After winning an election from the Student Body he now serves as Chief Diversity Officer. In this capacity, he serves on the President’s Council on Policing and works to make the University of Connecticut a safe and welcoming place for all his peers.
After graduating, Damani hopes to pursue a career in Public Policy in the Public Sector.
